Integrate a place workflow, not just an endpoint
The strongest Alkax integrations preserve a stable place ID, keep private workflow data separate from public place data, and choose the trust level appropriate to the decision.
Common patterns
Resolve a place
Use Alkax search when a user or operator needs to select an existing place by name, locality, Plus Code, coordinates, category, or proximity.
Keep: the Alkax place ID and the fields needed for display.
Recheck: mutable display data when it needs to be current.
Capture a missing destination
Allow an authorised user to create a place when search finds no appropriate match. Surface duplicate warnings rather than automatically forcing creation.
Keep: the returned place ID.
Avoid: treating every free-text delivery address as a new public place.
Verify or enrich
Use the relevant partner endpoint when an operational decision needs a stronger address-quality or verification signal.
Keep: the result, its timestamp, and any policy/version identifier.
Avoid: interpreting a platform trust signal as proof of land ownership or legal status.
Confirm before dispatch
Use Delivery Intelligence when the recipient must approve or correct the proposed destination before fulfilment.
Keep: the request ID, merchant reference, immutable confirmed snapshot, lifecycle state, and event ID.
Protect: recipient contact, confirmation link, private instructions, entrance media, merchant credential, and signing secret.

Recommended system boundary
Your frontend → Your backend → Alkax API
↘ Your webhook receiver
The browser talks to your backend. Your backend stores an environment-specific project credential, calls Alkax, applies tenant rules, and returns only the data the browser needs.
Production integration checklist
- Use a separate project credential for Sandbox and Production.
- Store credentials and webhook secrets in a secret manager.
- Set timeouts and bounded retries.
- Use idempotency keys where the workflow requires them.
- Persist Alkax IDs instead of matching later by title.
- Deduplicate webhook events before applying side effects.
- Redact personal data and secure links from logs.
- Monitor quota,
429, authentication failures, and webhook backlog. - Test the unhappy paths: duplicates, corrections, expiry, revocation, and retries.
