Publish what a visitor needs—not everything you know

Alkax places can be shared and discovered. Treat every public field as information that may be seen outside your immediate group.

Appropriate public context

  • a public-facing place name;
  • the arrival point;
  • stable landmarks;
  • business or facility category;
  • public entrance information;
  • a suitable exterior photograph.

Keep private

  • access codes and lockbox details;
  • private phone numbers and email addresses;
  • personal schedules or occupancy patterns;
  • identity documents and number plates;
  • medical, case-management, or vulnerability information;
  • confidential site or asset details;
  • delivery confirmation tokens and webhook secrets.

Photographs

Only upload an image you have a right to share. Avoid identifiable people unless there is a clear reason and appropriate consent. Submitted images can remain behind a placeholder while moderation checks them; rejected images are not displayed.

Sensitive places

Not every useful internal location should become a public place. Organisations working with shelters, protected assets, vulnerable people, or restricted facilities should keep sensitive coordinates in systems with appropriate access controls.

If a place exposes unsafe information, flag it for review.
